Dr. Gupta serves as the Chairman of the Expert Appraisal Committee (Industry-II) for Environmental Impact Assessment & Clearance at the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of India. 

An esteemed alumnus and top graduate of LIT, Nagpur (B.Tech) and IIT Delhi (M.Tech), he earned his Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Toronto and is renowned for his scholarly contributions to international journals. With a rich professional background in the Oil and Gas sector, including Petrochemicals, Dr. Gupta is a recognised authority on Renewable Energy, Bio Energy, and Hydrogen Energy, deeply versed in Environmental and Climate Change mitigations. 

A thought leader in the industry and a prolific writer, he initiated the ‘Swatch Bharat Mission’ and ‘Gold Bond’ schemes of the Government of India. His career spans significant roles, from a Process Engineer at Engineers India Ltd. to President and Managing Director at major group companies, including the global chemical giant Degussa AG. Dr. Gupta also contributes to several prestigious boards and committees, such as the Environment Committee of the PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry and boards of Norwegian companies like GreenStat Hydrogen India and Fiberstrength India International. 

Committed to societal upliftment, he is a Trustee of the Art of Living, actively engaged with organizations aiding the underprivileged.
